Syfy sets premiere date – Deadline

magicians returns to Syfy and they’re stacked with even more magic and creatures – and that’s not always a good thing. Nonetheless, the fifth season of the series based on Lev Grossman’s best-selling novels is set to premiere on Syfy on January 15, 2020 at 10 p.m.

In Season 4, Quentin Coldwater sacrificed himself and died to save his friends, magic, and the world. As seen in the new season’s trailer, Julia, Alice, Eliot, Margo, Penny, and their friends (and foes) must learn to navigate a world without Quentin. Now a new threat has emerged: by unleashing the magic, the scales have tipped the other way and there is too much of it, and as the excess accumulates, an apocalypse looms. The new season will see how magicians work without Q and if they can save the world.

magicians stars Stella Maeve, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Hale Appleman, Arjun Gupta, Summer Bishil, Rick Worthy, Jade Tailor, Brittany Curran and Trevor Einhorn. The series is produced by John McNamara, Sera Gamble, Henry Alonso Myers, Chris Fisher and Michael London and Janice Williams of Groundswell Productions.
