Kangana Ranaut releases BTS photo of “Magic and The Magicians” on emergency sets
Since Kangana Ranaut dropped her first look as the late former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for her upcoming movie Emergency, she left everyone super excited for the movie. While filming is currently underway, the actress recently took to her Instagram Stories and shared a behind-the-scenes photo from her makeup room. In the click, Kangana can be seen entering her Indira Gandhi avatar. In the caption, she wrote, “Transformation magic and magicians #setstories #Setarmy #emergency.”
It was in July this year that Kangana unveiled her look for Urgence. She was seen wearing a sari and holding her glasses in her hand.
Kangana not only plays the lead role in the film, but also directs it. This is the second time that the actress has taken on the role of director. Earlier, she also directed Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi which released in 2019.
Apart from Kangana, Emergency also stars Shreyas Talpade as the late former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Anupam Kher as the late political leader Jayaprakash Narayan and Mahima Chaudhry as the late Pupul Jayakar, author and Indira’s close friend. The film will also star Milind Soman as Sam Manekshaw. Recently, Kangana also revealed that she tapped her “acting guru” Arvind Gaur for a cameo appearance in Emergency.
Kangana Ranaut announced her director Urgence last year and later clarified that while Urgence is a political drama, it’s not Indira Gandhi’s biopic. “It’s not Indira Gandhi’s biopic. It’s a great period film. To be precise, it’s a political drama that will help my generation to understand the socio-political landscape of India today” , she said, quoted by Hindustan Times.
