The downtown Las Vegas venue wanted magician Dirk Arthur and his big cats to perform at one of their Fremont Street theaters. Magician Dirk Arthur has performed with his big cats in Las Vegas showrooms for decades, and Notoriety Live thought he was a good fit.

“I visited the animals. I saw how they were taken care of,” owner Ken Henderson said. “He loves them, and I felt good about the experience, but I still wonder how the rest of the world is going to take it?”

After an article appeared in the Las Vegas Review Journal about the possible association, Henderson said he received hundreds of letters asking him not to go ahead with the show. He heard public concerns about the use of animals for entertainment and decided not to involve them.

“It’s not something [the animals] can say I like doing that, and I think that’s where you’re never going to win the argument,” Henderson said. “I hear a different side of that now, and it makes me watch animals on different shows.”

Henderson told FOX5 that he doesn’t think he’ll ever allow any type of animal in his room after this experience. He even said he would like to see Arthur play, but without the animals.

It shows that letters, calls and anything else you can do will help you! Not everyone will be so receptive, but we’re glad Henderson listened to the letters, understood the concern, and canceled the event.
