Magician’s Golf Ranks Top Three at Mandan Invite | News, Sports, Jobs


On Tuesday, the Minot High Magicians golf team took part in the Mandan High Invitational. The tournament was held at the Prairie West Golf Course and the course consisted of 10 teams.

The Magicians had a solid performance, finishing with a team total of 316 in the afternoon. Kasen Rostad led the way for the Magicians, helping them finish third overall.

Rostad shot a 36 on the front nine and a 39 on the back nine, giving him a 75 for the day. His individual score was only one shot away from the highest individual score among all invitee participants.

Rounding things out for Minot, Peyton Bartsch and Henry Langhans both finished with a total of 79 (39 on the front nine and 40 on the back nine), Brock Jones with a total of 81 (36 on the front nine and 45 on the back nine), Jaxon Bradley with an 85 total (42 on the front nine, 43 on the back nine) and Tyler Bast with an 87 (40 on the front nine, 47 on the back nine).

The team’s overall total of 316 had them within five strokes of the winning score in what was a successful invite for Minot. The Magicians will be back in action on Friday, May 13 for the St. Mary’s Invitational.
