The Magicians extended their winning streak to nine games with Tuesday’s 3-1 win at Dickinson over the Midgets. Of those nine wins to start the year, seven of them have come against conference opponents.

Minot’s offense was busy early and often as they racked up 12 shots in total with eight shots on goal in the first half. By comparison, only three of Dickinson’s five shots in the first half were on goal. This high attacking work rate led to an early lead when senior midfielder Ezra Hagerott scored the game’s first goal less than three minutes into the game. He was assisted on the game by fellow senior midfielder Aiden Stewart.

Later in the period, Minot netted his second goal as second-year midfielder Brayden Oswalt made it 2-0 in favor of the Magi from a place kick in the 31st minute of action. As the Magicians took a two-goal lead at the break, Dickinson cut the lead in half in the 58th minute of the second period.

After that, the Magicians pulled away from the competition in the 67th minute as junior striker Manasseh Boakye scored from a pass from Hagerott to give Minot a 3-1 lead which would constitute the final score. Defensively, junior goaltender JJ Dufner made three saves in a game-winning effort for the Magi.

Next on the schedule, Minot plans to stay on the road for their next game against Bismarck Legacy on Thursday night. The start time for this game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
