New interactive magic show The Secret Connection

I spent much of the last thirteen months of Lockdown (it seems a lot longer!) trying to avoid ZOOM meetings, but Dr. Will Houstoun The secret connection is by far the most enjoyable and intriguing 75 minutes I’ve spent on Zoom or anywhere else in a long time!
Will Houstoun is an academic historian who researches the history of conjuring, particularly in the Victorian era, but his interactive show is anything but academic. Tickets are limited to 30 per performance so that everyone, if they wish, has the chance to participate, and even “connectwith other members of the public – but it is not mandatory.
Will’s vocal delivery is clear and pleasing to the ear; he is able to succinctly describe what he is doing and quickly leads you into the world of “magic”.
One of his very first illusions is Houdini’s Vanishing Elephant Trick, which is as amazing as it was when Houdini first performed it in 1918, and the show just gets even better!
He understands his favorite trick of moving coins without touching them – and as a ‘taster’ you can see this in action in an interview with Sky News (www.secretconnection.co.uk).
However, I don’t want to give too much away, I’ll just say that other illusions include very tricky card tricks (each ticket buyer gets a “goodie bag” that includes a deck of cards in advance), which all have some form of audience participation, so you’re really wondering”how the hell does he do that”.
The seventy-five minutes, which includes a short break, speeds up leaving someone wanting more. Tickets cost £49 for a group of up to four people, and it’s suggested there’s a lower age limit of 13.
Very highly recommended!! We all need entertainment in these strange times, and The secret connection is just that, besides being a bit different!
